Local Area
Gnosall is a large, pretty village with good amenities, including its own Community Fire Station, Primary School, St Lawrence CofE church, supermarket, doctor’s surgery, dental practice, veterinary practice, petrol station, pubs, Post Office and historic high street. To the edge of the village, are excellent walks along the canal towpath or the old railway line, which runs from Newport to Stafford. Gnosall also has a number of sports clubs including rugby, cricket and football. The village is situated on the A518, approximately halfway between the towns of Newport and Stafford. The mainline rail connections from Stafford bring Manchester and Birmingham well within commutable distance, as well as the 1.5-hour direct connection to London.
The Property
Unique barge and decking sleeps up to 2 guests near the Canal at Gnosall. There is one double bed., a hot tub on site, suitable for Adults only.
This unique property offers a fun way to enjoy a staycation in this beautiful part of the UK. There is also a basic cooking area inside the barge as well as a BBQ, table,seating in front of the Barge as well as a firepit for those cooler evenings. You will find a complimentary bottle of chilled Prosecco in your fridge to enjoy.
Locally there is plenty to see and do, as the barge is only a few minutes walk from two pubs, two of which sit on the side of the Shropshire Union Canal. (The Navigation & The Boat).
Once you’ve settled in, you’re sure to want to explore…just make sure you’ve packed those walking boots and wellies! For a walk along the Canal or Woodland path.
You’re free to check in any time after 3pm. (check out by 11am).

The code for the gates is 5455 – You can park on the secure driveway.

HEATING
The Barge is very well insulated, but there is a remote controlled heater supplied, just in case.
LOCATIONS OF COMMON ITEMS
The pots and pans are in the bottom cupboard plates & bowels are in the drawer above. Trash bags are kept underneath the sink, (you’ll find other basic cleaning supplies like sponges, bleach, and dish soap there as well).
COFFEE AND TEA
Trentham House offers free coffee and tea. Help yourself! The coffeemaker is sitting on the work surface, as is the coffee, Sugar and tea.
APPLIANCES
The oven/hob are gas.
READING LED LAMPS
Touch any part of the body to turn on, press for a longer time to adjust the brightness, there is a small self locking switch next to the usb point to override the on/off/dimming feature.
WASHER / DRYER
The washer and dryer are in the utility room within the house.
HAIR DRYER
There is a hair dryer is in the cabinet under the seating.
ALEXA
You have Alexa to play music, give you the news, time etc., there is also a built in CD player/Radio.
TOILET/SHOWER
There is a modern bathroom/Toilet for your use within the main house. (Key supplied)
